ATHIRMA

The Professional Center of Play Therapy and Dramatherapy was established as an Association in 1992. Ten years later it became an Ltd company and was renamed “Hellenic Institute of Play Therapy and Dramatherapy, Athirma” in 2003.
Toys are viewed as the child’s words and play is viewed as the child’s language.

Specialized in post-traumatic stress management, primary attachment and domestic violence. She is also professor and has developed psychotherapeutic techniques by making use of sand, clay and art in general.

Member of the team of Psychotherapy Institute for Children. She teaches in Playtherapy programs and works individually and in groups as coworker in psychiatric clinics, family centers, contexts of domestic violence management and schools.

Psychotherapist – Supervisor, B.A. in Human Sciences, M.Sc. in Educational Psychology. Accredited Diploma of Play Therapy and Supervision, accredited certification from the European body of Psychotherapy (E.C.P.). Pioneer in Play Therapy in Greece trained by Ann Cattanach and Sue Jennings.

Co-founder of the Hellenic Institute of Playtherapy and Drama Therapy “Athyrma” , in charge of the psycho-educational committee.

He works professionally as Psychotherapist with children and adults mainly using the Playtherapy approach. He is a supervisor for mental health professionals and students.

Co-founder member of the National Association of Professional Drama therapists and Play therapists. Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic National Association for Psychotherapists. Member of the Association for Play Therapy U.S.A. , member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (E.A.P.).

She founded the Institute Lila in Devon of England with the intention of making good use of creativity during the therapeutic process and for the individual’s development.

She works many years with adults and children individually and in Social Healthcare System and Social Welfare of England.

Vrentzou Akrivi

Psycologist-Dramatherapist

Psychologist, graduate of the University of Crete and certified Dramatherapist.

She has been trained in the Body Orientated Gestalt Therapy and in the Therapy of the Traumatized Inner Child.

She has been working for several years at KETHEA Ariadne Centre (Drug Addiction Treatment Centre), as a counselor for people addicted to drugs, alcohol, gambling, supporting them as well as their families. In collaboration with Kifissia Municipality, she worked at nurseries. At present she works at Alexandra’s public hospital supporting patients. As a private psychologist, she runs individual and group therapy sessions promoting creativity and body awareness.

She has given a number of lectures and has coordinated several Dramatherapy workshops as well as personal growth groups, in a number of Scientific Conferences. For the last five years she has been teaching at «Athyrma» Institute and other therapeutic settings.

Andreopoulou Anthi

Psycotherapist-Sociologist

Actress, graduate of George Theodosiadis’ Theatrical School in Athens and the British Theatre Association and Actor’s Centre in London, where she received a scholarship from the British Council.

Play director, writer and translator of theatrical plays, movies and television shows. Teacher of Improvisation and theatrical games in Colleges of Early Childhood Education. Professor of acting in several Drama schools. She has run a number of workshops in different placements.

Translator of books from English into Greek. Writer of books on improvisation and theatrical games for the kindergarten teacher’s training-Department of Early Childhood Education.

Dimopoulou Olga

Psycologist-Playtherapist

Certified Play Therapist, trained in the Complex Developmental Trauma, Supervisor.

Works as a psychologist since 2002. She has completed a special education program in order to be eligible to provide psychometric tools (intelligence and personality tests).

She is a registered Psychotherapist, trained in Play Therapy at the Hellenic Institute of Play Therapy and Dramatherapy, “Athyrma”. In 2006, she founded in Larisa “Anemi”, a Place for Psychotherapy via Play and Fairy tales, where she works psychotherapeutically with children, adults and families. She supervises creatively psychologists as well as educators.

She specializes in anxiety disorders, treatment of individual and/or complex traumatic experiences and children in the autistic spectrum supporting children and their families.

Zerva - Spanou Vicky

Psychotherapist, Playtherapist, Supervisor. M.A. in Play Therapy on Attachment Bond (Surrey University), MSc in Sociology of Education (Birkbeck College). E.C.P. Trained at the London Institute of Dramatherapy by Dr. Ann Cattanach, Dr Sue Jennings, Dr Moloi Lahad, Phil Jones, Steve Mitchell.

Co-founder of the Hellenic Institute of Play Therapy and Drama therapy “Athyrma”. External professor of the Play Therapy approach at the Democritus University of Thrace in the program for the integration of minorities in education. She has participated as an organizer, member of scientific committees, speaker, and coordinator of seminars in conferences in Greece, England, Italy (ECArTE).

She has published several articles and texts in Greek and English books and magazines. General secretary of the Hellenic Society for the Study and Research of Preschool Education.

Margeli Zoi

Psychologist and certified Play Therapist.

She is specialized in psychology of child development and the last years she works in the field of Special Education.

She has been a member of the educational team of the Hellenic Institute of Playtherapy and Dramatherapy “Athyrma” for the last years. She runs individual and group Play Therapy sessions and provides counseling and support sessions to parents. In co-operation with the Institute professional team, she has participated in continuing education programs as has presented several papers in scientific Conferences.

Her articles on child development and play have been published in various magazines.

Papadopoulou Athina

Psycologist-Dramatherapist

Psychologist and Drama Therapist. She studied Psychology in Panteion University and she then completed the training program in Drama Therapy at the Hellenic Institute of Play Therapy & Drama Therapy “Athyrma”.

She collaborated with the Association of People with Disabilities “Alkioni”, the “Alfa” Program of KETHEA, the Institution Chatzikonsta and educationally with the private Institute of Continuing Education (I.E.K. ) “Delta”. At present, she works privately in the Center of Psychotherapy & Psychosocial Rehabilitation “Mythia”, she also coordinates individual and group psychotherapy sessions, supervision and educational seminars. She works as an external lecturer at the Hellenic Institute of Play Therapy and Drama therapy “Athyrma”.

Consultant Psychologist (M.A.) and Play Therapist.

She studied Psychology in the National Kapodistriako University of Athens and acquired a master degree in Consulting in Brunel University (United Kingdom). She then completed the training program in Play Therapy at the Hellenic Institute of Play therapy & Drama therapy “Athyrma”, where for the last years she has been an external lecturer of postgraduate seminars.

Since 1996 she works at the Prevention Center of Hellenikon – Argyroupolis Municipality. She mainly deals with Primary Prevention and Mental Health Promotion in the school community and the wider community, organizing a variety of actions and interventions for all ages and population groups of the Municipality. At the same time, she works privately as Psychotherapist – Play Therapist, coordinating individual and group sessions, professional supervisions, experiential workshops and seminars.

Full member and member of the board of directors of the National Association of Professional Drama therapists and Play therapists.

Zografou Lia

Dramatherapist-Supervisor-Business Advisor-Coach-Trainer

Drama Therapist, Supervisor, Business Advisor/Coach and Trainer.

She studied History of Art in U.S.A. (BA, Brown University), Theatre in London (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) and she has Masters in Drama Therapy, with specialization in addictions (University of Surrey), diploma in clinical supervision (London School of Psychodrama) and diploma in Business Consultation (Gestalt Foundation, Athens). She is trained in trauma therapy (CRM, Comprehensive Resource Model) and in NARM (Neuro-affective Relational Model) for the developmental trauma.

She was professionally involved in the theatre before devoting herself to Drama Therapy and later on Business Consultation. She works internationally as a Drama Therapist, Consultant/Coach, supervisor of consultants/therapists and trainer, based in Thessaloniki and London. Since 2012 she works as a business consultant trainer for the program of the Gestalt Edge company(www.gestaltedge.gr). She has taught Psychology at the American College of Thessaloniki (ACT), at the supervision program of London School of Psychodrama (2008-2014), at “Epineio” for the training program in Drama Therapy and at the University of Roehampton, for the postgraduate Drama Therapy program.

Her articles, texts and translations, have been published in Greece and England. Mainly on the subject of supervision she has published with Ann Chesner the book “Creative Supervision Across Modalities” (Jessica Kingsley Publishers), has contributed at the book “Passionate Supervision” (Jessica Kingsley Publishers) and has translated in Greek the book of Hawkins & Shohet’s book “Supervision for the Helping Professions” (University Studio Press).

Kollatou Zoi

Choreographer-Kinesiologist-Actor-Performer

Independent choreographer, kinesiologist, graduate of LCDS at the Place (BA Hons).

Co-creator of ZS ensemble schema and of the theatre lab workshop with the intention of the holistic training of actors – performers. Teacher of contemporary dance, improvisation and movement for actors since 2001 in dancing schools, drama schools and theatrical workshops.

Her personal study and practice of body methods (yoga, pilates, feldenkrais), her experience in dance and theatre and the observation of the daily movement, sparked the creation of the Body Awareness lesson. She has been basically trained in reflexology and Thai Yoga massage.

Kottas Stavros

Dancer-Choreographer-Actro-Yoga trainer

Dancer, choreographer, actor and yoga trainer.

He studied dance at the High Professional School Dance in Thessaloniki, the art of acting at the Experimental Art Scene, graphics at the public school of continuing education and Greek sign language at the National Deaf Institute inThessaloniki. He is a certified teacher of Raja & Hatha Yoga, RTY 500h Yoga Alliance (USA) and Y.A.I. (India). He also specializes in Yoga for children.

He has been teaching dance, movement, acting, improvisation and yoga since 2004. As an actor, dancer, choreographer, yoga trainer he collaborates with dancing and acting groups and has attended dancing, theater, yoga, reflexology, thai massage and Chinese medicine seminars.

Psilla Elina

Nutrisionist-Drama psycotherapist

Nutritionist and Drama Psychotherapist.

She studied Nutritional Science in Leeds Polytechnic in England and worked exclusively as nutritionist for 16 years. Her personal therapy, led her to become a Drama Therapist. She completed her training at the Hellenic Institute of Play therapy & Drama therapy “Athyrma” in 2007.

She works privately with individuals and groups. Since 2014, she works as an external partner at the Hellenic Institute of Play therapy and Drama therapy “Athyrma” and at the “Logoanelixi” center.

She is a full member of the National Association for Professional Drama therapists and Play therapists.
